Lene Lange presented us with an inspiring and future oriented Closing Talk at BIOPROSP_11. We are pleased that she also this year has accepted this challenging task. Lange’s final remark at BIOPROSP 2011: “Give highest priority to creating stimulating research environment for attracting and training the young talent for the future. Tell the good stories (for general public and politicians) about new technologies providing hope for a more sustainable future (jobs/income/solutions) BIOLOGY HAS ALL the GOOD STORIES and PICTURES!”
Lene Lange`s professional career includes experience from three major sectors of research in Denmark; 6 years employment at the University of Copenhagen; 8 years at a research institute (Danish Government Institute of Seed Pathology, Danida); and 20 years in private industry (Novo, Novo Nordisk and Novozymes A/S). Since 2007 back in Academia, University of Copenhagen, Head of Department of Biology. Present Campus Director, Aalborg University Copenhagen and Director of Research, Aalborg University. Lene Lange has held several positions at international Boards and Committees, including leader of an International Expert group “Possibilities for a bioprospecting commitment in Norway 2008-2020”.
